Phaser EPL

The Phaser range is the latest generation in IPL technology offering a wide range of treatment options including permanent hair removal. Phaser EPL is the biggest innovation in hair removal method and technology for over fifty years. It offers a clinically proven, fast, safe and effective method for removing hair, leaving you with smooth skin every day, so no more waxing or shaving.

IPL hair removal is not suitable for everyone. Those with darker skin types have a higher risk of pigmentation due to the higher melanin content of the skin. You should avoid sunlight on the treated area for a period of time before and after treatment.

FAQs

How does it work?

Phaser EPL delivers pulses of light into the skin at specific wavelength which is selectively absorbed in the melanin pigment in the hair follicle. The light energy heats the pigment and effectively disables the hair follicle without damaging the surrounding skin tissue. Once treated the hairs will gradually slip out over the next seven to ten days leaving the skin smooth and hair free.

It is important to note that IPL hair removal is effective in removing hairs which are in the growing phase only. As a result additional treatments will be required.

Is it painful?

Most people find some level of discomfort similar to a flick from a small elastic band on the skin. Comfort levels can be improved by cooling the skin before and after the treatment. Mild redness may occur on the treated area but this will only last for a short period of time.

How long does it last?

Clinical studies have proven that IPL technology is effective in permanently reducing hair growth. It is a gradual process but once the hair follicle has been treated it should not regrow.

How many treatments are required?

The number of treatments varies between individuals but experience indicates that a minimum of five treatments are usually required. There tends to be a five to eight week interval between treatments.

Is it suitable for everyone?

IPL hair removal is not suitable for everyone. Those with darker skin types have a higher risk of pigmentation due to the higher melanin content of the skin. You should avoid sunlight on the treated area for a period of time before and after treatment.
